The Gordon Highlanders Scottish Dancers will have dance classes on Thursday nights 6:30-9:00 pm in Guild Hall. The dancers learn Scottish Highland Dancing for demonstrations and competitions from Kathy Eisel, a certified Highland Dance teacher, who has been dancing for over 40 years and teaching for more than 15 years. She is a member of the Scottish Dance Teachers’ Alliance (SDTA) and the Federation of United States Teachers and Adjudicators (FUSTA). Kathy is assisted by Megan Wiseley, a Premier level dancer, who is still actively competing in local competitions and championships.
The Gordon Highlanders have performed at the L.A. County Fair for many years, were featured at promotional events for Disney-Pixar’s Brave movie, dance for Scottish programs and organizations, community events, combined performances with the MacLeod Scottish Country dancers, and have marched in several parades. Our dancers also compete in competitions at local Scottish Highland Games/Festivals.
